Job Title: Hybrid visual and UX designer

Department: Investor and Treasury Services (I&TS), ACE Program

Rate: Open

Lenght: Six Months to start


Consulting with clients, project teams and lead experience architect

o Acts as a user experience advocate regarding principles of cumulative customer experience and user-centered design

o Participates in design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs/documentation, and challenge core team to create a successful user experience and cohesive story

o Collaborating with a core team of various design disciplines and content writers and build and maintain a team rapport with creative team personnel, managers, & stakeholders

Executing interaction and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team

o Design, polish, and continually refine consumer facing products.

o Market and promote products and features so users understand what they’re getting and what the benefits are.

o Rationalize solutions and effectively communicate ideas/designs via sitemaps, userflows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity design comps

o Design multiple options, trust the iterative process, and understand that the first idea is not always the best

Creating a consistent, coherent and accessible look across all labs

o Present the user interface visually so information is easy to read, understand, and find,

Must have an exceptional eye for detail and passion for quality, and provide quality assurance on creative deliverables


  • Recommends design options
  • Provides input on information architecture
  • UX Designer conceptualizes the UX then works with stakeholders and end users to validate design and recommend the end to end design strategy
  • Makes UI and UX design decisions for high complexity solutions – including what options to present to stakeholders and making final decisions between competing designs ; decision needs to align with the UX vision and information architecture and with the long-term Product roadmap

Works with the various lab teams to develop and uphold UI standards (e.g. accessibility) or determine when exceptions can be granted


Describe / list the job requirements, including any specific “product” or “process” knowledge, previous “specialist” experience required (be fairly specific); specific “technical” skills and the level of skill required. Technical and behavioural competencies can be included if appropriate.

  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Solid knowledge of design tools (Adobe Photoshop and/or Sketch, Illustrator, and presentation software) and principles (typography, grid systems, visual hierarchy, colour, white space, etc.)
  • Strong prototyping skills with tools like Axure and/or InVision
  • 5+ years’ experience working in digital on creative teams
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong presentation and problem solving skills
  • Desire to work through the entire design process using methods like sketching, storyboarding, diagramming, wire-framing, and prototyping for screen-based experiences
  • Fluent in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale
  • Portfolio of work samples showcasing work
  • Experience working within a large organization is an asset
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the agile process
