Job Title: Project Management – Program Manager – IT (Expert)

Bill Rate: $155 Per hour

  • Delivers Minimum Viable Product (MVP) on time
  • Works closely with IT and Product to highlight and proactively manage risks and interdependencies
  • Facilitates difficult problem solving sessions and ensures the right stakeholders are involved
  • Drives the agile development process in conjunction with the scrum master with the goal of the team meeting the short and long term objectives (e.g., month to month, week to week and day to day) on time
  • Manages logistics and administration within the lab to ensure it runs smoothly while avoiding unnecessary overhead
  • Manages logistics and administration to key functions outside the lab where dependencies/integration points exist with the lab
  • Coaches team members on effective communication skills and facilitation when needed
    • Rolls out MVP
  • Work with RBC T&O organization to facilitate the release of the newly developed application, including infrastructure and environments setup, application deployment and configuration, post release activities
  • Works with RBC stakeholders to execute rollout activities on time (e.g., trainers, support desk, IT teams etc.)
    • Impacts the culture of I&TS by role-modeling the agile culture shifts, especially:
  • Candid collaboration: willing to challenge and debate with passion and empowers and coaches the team to make decisions
  • Coaching: Works with various members of the team to improve their agile and execution abilities through coaching and mentorship
  • Act and iterate: comfortable working with ambiguity, knows when is “good enough” and able to pivot quickly

Collective impact: works across labs to ensure all labs deliver on time and happy to jump in to help others on items not directly related to their job


Manages communication with external stakeholders and between labs

Produces leadership-ready slides for lab updates to senior executives

Escalates issues quickly and appropriately to remove roadblocks

Facilitates collaboration with other labs to take advantage of synergies and best practices and ensure alignment

Coordinate and align IT activities with external teams (schedules, releases, technical implementations, transfer of knowledge..)

Jointly accountable for successful delivery of the Lab (MVP) on budget and within set timeframes

Leading risk, dependency and issue mitigation whilst maintaining close partnership

Managing and sustaining key relationships with the product owner, , and IT lead to ensure strong alignment for optimal delivery


  • Ability to structure and solve problems under ambiguity
  • IT Project management experience
  • Understanding of ITS priorities and challenges
  • Sufficient IT knowledge/aptitude to interface with lab-based teams
  • Experience and comfort delivering a project in true agile fashion, where requirements are iteratively defined
  • Ability to communicate with impact
  • Embodiment of the mindsets required in the lab
  • Ability to drive execution
  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree
  • Good understanding of IT architecture and technology concepts
