Location is Toronto, downtown, a big Bank close to TTC and GO.

As part of Enterprise Reconciliation Team within Enterprise Data Management Office (EDMO) in IT&S, the Senior Business Analyst will contribute to the implementation and execution of the centralized enterprise reconciliation activities in support of Non Retail and Retail Credit Risk, and Liquidity projects and other related reconciliation initiatives across the Bank.
The candidate will participate in the reconciliation activities during the systems project execution, and will work with the business stakeholders to assist in transitioning of the reconciliation requirements into steady-state
The Sr. BA will participate in the reconciliation of source data to the Enterprise General Ledger (EGL) and Sub-Ledgers on monthly basis and the daily validations processes including: analyzing, investigating, validation, creating adjustments and documentation of the variances; documentation of the reconciliation processes; creating detailed business requirements and data flows; building of test cases and definition of operational processes and procedures; and execution of test cases.
The Sr. BA will take on various oversight and support activities in addition to leading the continuous improvement and enhancement of the reconciliation processes.

Key Accountabilities
Support project based enterprise reconciliation team in reconciling the consolidated source data of all asset classes from the data hubs to the Bank’s General Ledger and sub-ledgers. This includes supporting oversight to the operational units during the post project transitioning period for the day-to-day operations that are involved in reconciling to the Bank’s General Ledger.
Assist various reconciliation groups with problem detection, issue resolution and implementing ongoing improvements to the automated processes.
Act as a primary point of contact with the operational units involved in the reconciliation function; and provide SME (Subject Matter Expertise) with the financial reconciliation of specific product / assets classes
Identify and resolve financial data reconciliation issues, through the interaction with operations, business users and data providers, with the goal of improving reconciliation process and data quality
Document reconciliation processes and functions; prepare business requirements documents and data flows; and create and execute test cases
Participate and work closely with lines of business and product groups to direct the establishment of data governance and quality principals as they relate to reconciliations including: ensuring the capturing the appropriate data for new products/transits, and in scope subsidiaries and units
Continuously identify areas of improvement by reviewing the methodologies, processes, and best practices that meet the users’ requirements for content, frequency, accuracy, completeness and timeliness
Maintain and effective system of internal controls and processes to ensure they meet regulatory principles (OSFI, Basel, SOX, etc.)
Functional Competencies

Strong work experience with Financial Reconciliation and understanding of Systems.
The incumbent must have excellent knowledge of financial instruments including derivatives and sound understanding of retail and wholesale products.
The incumbent should have a good understanding of the end-to-end workflows among the Front, Middle, and Back Offices, within at least one financial market area (i.e. derivatives Fixed, risk management) and a good knowledge of at least one other financial market area.
The incumbent must be a creative, self starting, results-oriented, and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to assist in the resolution of complex reconciliation issues. Further, the incumbent must possess very good interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively work with various stakeholders and members of the project team.
The incumbent is expected to use diplomacy, judgement, and persuasion to secure agreement and co-operation from stakeholders and departments involved in a project.
Recent hands on experience in creating detailed business requirements and data flows; and experience in writing and executing test cases.
The candidate must be capable of working in a team dynamic, able to complete deliverables under tight timelines, and take the initiative to identify and resolve problems on their own
